MTRC Joins the WE4A Bridging Event: Celebrating Women’s Rise from Seed to Scale

On June 24, 2025, Mushroom Training and Resource Centre (MTRC) proudly took part in the Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (WE4A) Bridging Event in Kampala, an inspiring celebration of women-led innovation and green enterprise across Uganda.

Organized by GIZ under the Women Employment for the Green Transformation in Africa (WE4D) programme, the event brought together over 80 key stakeholders, including women entrepreneurs, government representatives, development partners, and entrepreneurial support organizations. The event marked a pivotal shift from startup ideation to scale-focused business development for the 262 women entrepreneurs supported by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) under the WE4A programme.

As MTRC, we were honored to connect with partners, celebrate the success of women entrepreneurs, and reflect on how inclusive green entrepreneurship can accelerate Uganda’s sustainable development. The event emphasized not only financial empowerment through seed funding, but also the importance of mentorship, business development services, and access to finance for long-term growth.

We were especially inspired by the stories of resilience and innovation shared by women transforming their communities through climate-friendly and inclusive businesses. The Bridging Event highlighted what we deeply believe: when women rise, communities thrive.

MTRC remains committed to advancing inclusive agripreneurship and ensuring women have the skills, tools, and opportunities to lead Uganda’s green economy.
