AAIN Staff Visit MTRC for Potential Incubation Partnership

We were honored to host Enock Ampumuza and Suzan Watkins, esteemed representatives from the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN), at the Mushroom Training and Resource Centre (MTRC). AAIN is a pan?African network (established in 2014, registered in 2015) dedicated to “incubating incubators” — strengthening agribusiness incubation capacity and commercializing agricultural innovations across Africa

Staff from MTRC and AAIN share a light moment.

During their visit, the delegation received a comprehensive tour of MTRC’s facilities. They observed key processes across our spawn productionsubstrate preparationinoculationincubationharvestingdrying, and packaging areas. Our team also demonstrated our training programs, youth mentorship initiatives, and approaches to integrating spent substrate into organic fertilizer solutions.

Enock and Suzan were particularly impressed by our practical, outcome?driven model — especially how it empowers youth and supports sustainable agribusiness development. Their response reflects AAIN’s own mission of equipping incubators with tools, structures, mentorship, and business support systems to foster jobs and wealth creation in Africa.

This collaboration marks a promising first step toward a formal partnership. We are excited about the opportunity to work with AAIN to enhance our incubation framework, expand outreach to aspiring agripreneurs, and catalyze youth-led agribusiness ventures in the region.

Together with AAIN, we look forward to transforming more mushroom agripreneurs into successful businesses and building resilient, prosperous communities across Africa.
