WWF and Uplift the Rural Poor Staff Visit MTRC for Training Discussions and Facility Tour

On April 14th, 2025, the Mushroom Training and Resource Center (MTRC) was pleased to host a team from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Uplift the Rural Poor (URP) for an engaging and productive visit.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss opportunities for training their beneficiaries in mushroom spawn production—a vital component in the mushroom value chain. Our team introduced the guests to the training modules we offer, focusing on practical, hands-on skills development aimed at empowering rural farmers and youth with sustainable agribusiness knowledge.

The visit included a guided tour of our key facilities, including the spawn production laboratory, incubation and grow rooms, dark room, and value addition section. The team appreciated the well-organized structure and the innovative techniques used in our production process.

This visit marks the beginning of a potential collaboration that aligns with our shared vision of uplifting rural communities through skill-building, food security, and enterprise development. We are excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to supporting the beneficiaries of WWF and Uplift the Rural Poor with impactful training in mushroom cultivation.
